Before we begin our journey with Data Analysis , there is the big question in our mind; What’re Data or What do mean by Data ?

Data are measurement or observation that are collected as a source of information such as,The number of people living in Bangalore , the number of patients admitted in an emergency case , the value of sales of the particular product , a number of matches hold on Bangalore cricket stadium.

There is some terminology on Data :

Information : result/fact of processed data which leads to a solution of a particular problem,ex : here is 20 cricket matched played on Bangalore stadium in that India won 15 matches and also won the world cup in this year.

In short , we call it data is unprocessed data and the information is cleaned of data which help us  to provide an answer to particular questions.

A Data Unit is one entity ( such as a person or business ) in the population being studied about what data are collected.

It also referred as a unit record or record.

A Data Item is a characteristic of the data unit which is measured or counted such as height , country of birth or income.

A data item is also referred to as a variable because the characteristics may vary between the data unit and may vary over the time.

An Observation is an occurrence of a specific data item that is recorded in a data unit.

A Dataset is a complete collection of all observation.

Here , Table is a dataset , individual records called data unit or record or one observation ,  ( AGE ,SEX , INCOME ) called data items , (MALE, FEMALE) called Non-numeric observations of data item SEX , ( 5000 ,4000, 60000) called Numeric observations of data item INCOME.
